High Loan Growth Expected
October 2008 | Economic AnalysisOn October 30, the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) announced that interest rates would be cut by 100bps, to 15.0%, in order to boost growth. While the CBI's intention is to encourage domestic banks to grow their loans books, we do not believe the rate cut will have all that much impact in the short term.
