Aggressive Monetary Easing To Continue

The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) will continue to pursue a policy of aggressive monetary easing over the course of the year. The bank's policy interest rate currently stands at 9.0% (after the latest 200bps cut at the end of March), far below its 15.0% end-2008 level, but further cuts are nevertheless likely soon.
