US Troop Pull-Back Will Challenge ISF

The next six months will be a pivotal time period for Iraq. To say this may well be clichéd - when has Iraq not faced pivotal moments over the past six years? However, following the final withdrawal of US combat troops from Iraqi towns and cities to bases in the countryside on June 30, the reformed (post-2003) Iraqi Security Force (ISF) will be principally responsible for maintaining the peace in urban areas. This will represent a major milestone for post-Saddam Iraq.
