Tunisia has asked the US to hand over two Tunisian nationals currently being held in US custody on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. One of the men is among the 10 Tunisian nationals currently being held in Guantanamo Bay. The US is seeking to persuade countries to take custody of prisoners currently held at the facility, whose closure has been ordered by President Barack Obama. The other prisoner is being held at Bagram air base in Afghanistan. Both have been convicted in absentia by Tunisian courts on terrorism-related charges.
