Security Gains Will Continue To Boost Maliki

The Iraqi Security Force has thus far coped well with its increased responsibilities following the withdrawal of US troops from Iraqi towns and cities, which bodes well for stability. As long as security does not deteriorate substantially before January's parliamentary elections, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is likely to be returned to office.
