Tanzania's ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi, is setting up a three-member team to more closely monitor MP conduct, in response to general concern that 'reckless' statements and 'caustic remarks' made by parliamentarians and other party officials could damage the group. Besides warning of the potential for disciplining measures, the team will also seek to expand the forum for party members to raise dissent during party caucuses, keeping disagreement out of the public sphere.
