Inflationary Pressures To Mount

BMI View: Unlike most countries across the continent, Zambia has felt the impact of lower global food and energy prices only marginally in its consumer price basket. While headline inflation has edged down from its peak, it remains entrenched in the double digits, a dynamic likely to be supported by the increase in electricity tariffs from August. We have raised our end-year forecast to 12.9%.
