Political Challenges Ahead For The NDP

BMI View: As the National Democratic Party (NDP) prepares for its sixth annual conference on October 31, it continues to face multiple challenges, in the form of unemployment, a slowing economy, and high levels of support for the Muslim Brotherhood opposition. We do not think it can meet its own growth and employment targets, in the wake of the global economic crisis, and as such, it will want to ensure the transition from President Hosni Mubarak to his successor sooner rather than later.
