Khama Drops Tsvangirai

There are indications that relations between President Ian Khama Botswana and President Robert Mugabe of neighbouring Zimbabwe are thawing, at the expense of Botswana's leader's support for Morgan Tsvangirai of the opposition MDC. It has been suggested that Khama has lost patience with the MDC leader, who disregarded advice given to him before he signed the Global Political Agreement with Mugabe. For the first time, Khama voted with the other SADC heads of state in support of Mugabe's demands for an end to sanctions against Zimbabwe.
