One Small Step But No Giant Leap

There are tentative signs of international re-engagement with Zimbabwe as the EU sent a high-level delegation, the first since 2002, to meet with leaders from all Zimbabwean political parties in September 2009. Additionally, Australia has said that it will renew some ministerial contact with the country. However, both Australia and the EU have stated that full implementation of the Global Political Agreement would be required before targeted sanctions against Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF are lifted.
