Electoral Troubles Already Brewing

Despite a number of encouraging statements from local politicians, we believe there is a growing risk of political violence in the run up to parliamentary and presidential elections in July 2010. This view is based on the fact that weapons remain in relatively easy supply, while the government's efforts to reintegrate former rebels have only been partially successful.
