January 2010 | Risk SummaryAccording to Jordan's Department of Statistics, the unemployment rate fell to 12.2% in Q409, from 14.0% in Q309. The unemployment rate was 10.5% for males compared with 20.3% for females. As the economy slowly picks up over the coming years, we expect the unemployment rate to slowly fall, although given Jordan's youthful demographics, creating jobs for new entrants to the workforce will remain a key challenge for the government.
