February 2010 | Risk SummaryOpposition groups have accused President Andry Rajoelina of behaving like a dictator and cracking down on the opposition following the collapse of various power-sharing deals. For example, there is a warrant for the arrest of senior opposition politician Fetison Andrianirina - a close ally of former President Marc Ravalomanana -in connection with a string of foiled bomb attacks in 2009. Andrianirina told reporters in mid-January 2010 that 'this is a political manoeuvre to get rid of me'. He denied receiving a police summons.
