February 2010 | Risk SummaryMore than a hundred Saudi Arabian troops were killed as the recent conflict between the Yemeni government and Houthi rebels in the north of the country spilled over the border. The protagonists have now declared a ceasefire, though we would not be surprised to see it break down, which could see Saudi forces drawn in once more. The conflict will have given Riyadh a glimpse of the potential threat to its security interests should the Yemeni government become too weak to deal with internal threats. As a result, it is likely to provide Sana'a with significant military and economic assistance
