The organisation also accused authorities of using police to prevent journalists from attending the launch. Tunisia's rights record has come under increasing scrutiny after the arrest of several prominent journalists, with the European Parliament recently threatening to withdraw the 'advanced partner status' with the EU if Tunisia does not make a demonstrable commitment to media freedom. We maintain that economic and security concerns will remain highest on the list
