Government To Acquire Sovereign Rating
March 2010 | Ratings UpdateIn mid-March 2010, government officials confirmed that at least one big credit rating agency had been contacted to supply Angola with a foreign currency rating. Although the government had initially planned to issue an international bond without rating, the launch has now been delayed until at least one of three major credit rating agencies - S&P , Moody's and Fitch - agrees to provide one. Angola is planning to issue as much as US$4.0bn in foreign currency denominated debt in 2010, equivalent to 3.8% of forecast GDP.
