Libya has lifted the ban on visas for citizens from Schengen zone countries on March 27 after Spain's Foreign Ministry, speaking on behalf of Schengen countries, announced that it would scrap a Swiss-instigated blacklist for Libyan travelling to Europe. The development plays into our view that commercial considerations would ultimately force de-escalation of the diplomatic crisis. Relations with Switzerland remain bitter, however.
