After 12% appreciation of the Syrian pound (against the US dollar) between end-2007 and end-2009, we expect this trend to reverse over the coming years. We look for a steady depreciation of the unit from SYP45.50/US$ at end-2009 to SYP46.50/US$ by end-2011.
