Budget Surplus Expected For 2010

BMI View: Our outlook for the OPEC basket price to average around US$83/bbl in 2010 will bring up oil export revenues from Oman to a y-o-y increase of around 49.1%. Oman's Ministry of National Economy has revealed that it has experienced a 2010 budget surplus of OMR421.2mn (US$1.09bn) during Q110 which has underlined our forecasts for a recovery after the budget deficit of OMR22.1mn seen in the whole of 2009.
