Balance Of Payments Position Set To Improve

BMI View:Sudan's external position was dealt a hefty blow in 2009 as the global economic downturn hit export receipts hard. Going forward, we expect the improvement in external demand conditions in general, and rising oil prices in particular, to drive an improvement in Sudan's balance of payments position, with the current account deficit forecast to reverse into a 3.4% of GDP surplus in 2010.
