The current Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will not announce until next summer if he will take part in the presidential elections (expected to take place around September 2011). If he does stand for another mandate, the 82 year old will be in for his sixth six-year term. If however this doesn't happen, he will probably be replaced as candidate for the National Democratic Party (NDP) by either his son Gamal Mubarak or by General Omar Suleiman, the director of Egypt's intelligence agency.
