Economic Recovery Will Remain Fragile

The impact of the 2008-2009 economic downturn proved particularly hard hitting for the Senegalese economy, where growth slowed to a snail's pace last year. Having notched up a 4.2% average rate of real expansion over the course of 2004-2008, national output increased by just 1.4% in 2009 compared to 2.3% the previous year.
