Cabinet Reshuffle
June 2010 | Ratings UpdateSeveral ministers from the Movement For Democratic Change (MDC) party have been axed from their posts following a reshuffle of personnel by party leader Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. Among the victims of the changes were Energy Minister Elias Mudzuri and co-Home Affairs Minister Giles Mutsekwa, who have been criticized for ongoing chronic power shortages and a failure to control the police respectively. The changes were endorsed by President Robert Mugabe who immediately swore in the chosen replacements. However, Mugabe has continued to refuse to swear in Roy Bennett, Tsvangirai's pick for deputy agriculture minister, despite Bennett being cleared of treason
