FLEC Abandons Armed Struggle
July 2010 | Ratings UpdateIn late June 2010, the first meeting under the US-Angola Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) took place to discuss economic ties between the two countries. Such agreements provide a forum for high-level negotiations on trade and investment issues, and as such are an essential precursor to a more formal Free Trade Agreement. At present, Angolan shipments to the US are mainly comprised of oil and precious stones (diamonds) while imports from the US are made up of medical supplies and heavy machinery
