Saudi Arabia

We stated at the beginning of the Obama presidency that the new president would not take a materially different stance to his predecessors on relations with Saudi Arabia, with pragmatic concerns continuing to dictate policy. This has clearly played out, with the two countries remaining on good terms in both economic and regional political matters. Indeed, the US is apparently working closely with Saudi Arabia on a possible arms sale worth close to US$30bn, that includes 84 Boeing Co F-15 fighter jets.
