We forecast that Gabon will grow in real terms by 3.0% in 2010, and will continue to grow at rates between 3.2% and 5.2% until 2014. A return in global demand for industrial inputs like oil and steel should drive export growth, which will enable more government spending on infrastructure and economic diversification, which, in turn, will facilitate greater private consumption. The fact that Gabon is starting from a low base will only help to accentuate these effects.
