Seeking More Foreign Partnerships
July 2010 | Ratings UpdateThe first ever visit of Zambia's President, Rupiah Banda, to Turkey is yet another effort by the current government to build new economic partnerships with large emerging market countries. Zambia hosted President Lula Da Silva in early July, a visit that led to the signing of eight agreements to formalise and enhance cooperation between the two countries. While in Ankara, Banda and, Abdullah Gül, the Turkish President, signed agreements calling for among other things: the creation of channels for political consultations, cooperation regarding civil aviation and diplomatic exchange.
