According to data from the Banque Centrale du Congo (BCC) inflation had fallen to 17.6% y-o-y by the third week of August down from a peak of over 50.0% in November 2009. In response to the continued downward trend in prices, the BCC lowered its policy rate from 29.5% to 22.0% while leaving the required reserve ratio at 7.0%. Our end-2010 inflation target has also been lowered from 16.0% to 14.0%, below the official target of 15.0%
