Macroeconomic Forecast Yemen

September 2010 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

We are forecasting real GDP growth in Yemen to stagnate in 2011, coming in at 2.8%, down only slightly from an anticipated 2.9% in 2010. Although there is interest in new energy opportunities in Yemen, including natural gas and geothermal power, these will struggle to offset the negative impact of declining oil production. We are forecasting oil output to drop from 255,000b/d in 2010 to just 150,000b/d by 2014.
