Egypt's political risk profile heading into 2011 will remain under considerable pressure, as the country prepares to hold parliamentary elections in late November, and questions surrounding next year's presidential vote linger. Given the combination of ongoing uncertainty regarding President Hosni Mubarak's health, recent reports of discord among ruling elites, and the absence of a widely supported presidential successor, we do not expect to see a marked improvement in the country's underlying risk profile in the near term.
