Stable Security Environment To Keep Investor Confidence High

Tunisia's efforts to root out terrorism, such as the November 11 decision to jail 23 Tunisian nationals for terror-related activities, is both positive and negative for Tunisia's political risk profile, however on balance, we see it as a positive sign that will help keep foreign investors' confidence high. Following the December 2003 approval of a comprehensive anti-terrorism law, Tunis has increased its anti-terrorism efforts and, although the security situation within Tunisia's borders appears to be stable, some believe it is also a convenient way to silence political dissent.
