Policy Response: Too Little Too Late

BMI View: The response of the Angolan authorities - both in terms of exchange rate policy and monetary policy - to ongoing economic difficulties has been inadequate, in our view. We see scope for a further devaluation of the kwanza. Increased take-up of government bonds is also in the pipeline, but the authorities will still need to seek alternative means of finance.
