BMI View: Latest data on 2005 growth show that private consumption (up 3.6% y-o-y) grew faster than government consumption (up 3.0%). Private consumption is set to grow faster in 2006 as a result of tax and interest rate cuts. This will support higher real GDP growth of 5.7%. On the downside, the rising cost of fuel exports poses risks to the current account and fiscal deficit.
