Israel scores highly in our new risk rating system, with 73.1 in the short term category and 80.3 in the long term category. In the short term, the rating is boosted by broad policy continuity: regardless of the changes in government, Israel is not liable to see sudden shifts in political or macroeconomic ideology. It does fall down somewhat in the policy-making process category (for which it scores 66.7), a result of the highly divided and factionalised parliamentary make-up, as well as the public''s ability to make life difficult for the government.
