Tanzania is to close all of its refugee camps by the end of this year and will repatriate approximately half a million refugees. It is thought that the closure of the 10 camps will bring an end to business for about 15 relief organisations that have been implementing partners of United Nations agencies operating in the camps, and the 1,500-2000 people employed by those businesses face possible unemployment. Tanzania already has a fairly poor score of 5/10 for unemployment, and the move to close the refugee camps poses a downside risk.
