The latest round of talks on the future of Western Sahara ended without any further progress. The talks, held near New York City in mid-March, achieved little except an agreement to meet for further talks in the future. Both sides did agree on measures to facilitate family visits between Moroccan and Polisario-controlled territory, but with neither delegation apparently willing to make any concessions, we see little chance of major progress in the short term. In light of the ongoing stalemate, we have kept our risk ratings steady.
