Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangari, who in a fair fight is heavy favourite to win the June 27 presidential contest run-off, has said that if elected he will set up a South African-style Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate alleged abuses during the Mugabe era. While justified and desired by the population, the announcement has frightened Mugabe and his allies, who reportedly fear convictions and imprisonment or worse, and that could make them less willing to relinquish power even after a run-off defeat.
