Highlighting our low scores for civil society and rule of law in Gabon, a campaigner for the anti-corruption NGO Publish What You Pay (PWYP) has been barred from leaving the country, according to PWYP and another NGO, Revenue Watch Insitute. We give Gabon a score of 2 out of 4 for civil society and 3 out of 10 for rule of law. According to PWYP, the campaigner was stopped on the tarmac of Libreville airport on June 6, after clearing security. No legal basis or justification for the travel ban was given.
