Private Indian company Essar Oil and Gas has agreed to acquire a 25% stake in Kenya Petroleum Refineries (KPR), which operates Kenya's only oil refinery. The Mombasa refinery, which has a capacity of 4mn tonnes per annum (tpa), or 80,000 barrels per day (b/d), produces liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, diesel, kerosene and fuel oil.
