With unemployment still very high despite impressive economic growth, the IMF is set to approve the granting to Namibia of the second of two Development Policy Loans (DPL). Valued at US$7.5mn each, the programme is aimed at supporting the government in its implementation of its 15-year Education and Training Sector Improvement Program (ETSIP). Ongoing education reform is essential if the country is to successfully to diversify away from dependence on the primary sector.
