The Moroccan government has issued a pre-emptive ban on the French women's rights group Ni Putes Ni Soumises from operating in the Kingdom. The group campaigns for the rights of Muslim women in France, including campaigns against pressure to wear the Islamic headscarf, to marry at a young age and to drop out of education. It has not applied for permission to open office in Morocco, although founders hinted previously that they would like to begin working there. The government said that the decision to ban the group had been taken as its methods did 'not conform with the approach
